Memories of a lifetime.
That’s the only way to describe the opportunity that was given to our Unleash Your Drive Final winners at Wentworth Club. After winning their spot via the Final at The Grove in August, the trio were treated to a Pro-Am round at Wentworth.
They teed it up alongside Harry Hall, who was many people’s tip to make the Ryder Cup team in 2025, and was very unlucky to miss the final captain’s picks. Starting on the 9th, the team struck pure shots down the fairway (and surrounding area!) before finishing the hole with one birdie among them. The 10th saw 13 year old Thomas Peachey strike the front of the green, as his playing partners – including Hall – came up short. Imagine Peachey writing that sentence six months ago…
16 more memorable holes followed, including an incredible approach to 18 for Paul McHugh, whose eagle putt just drifted wide, and a belting drive off the first from all three finalists. “This is incredible,” said Colin McGee, the third of the Final winners, as the trio walked down 18 with fans applauding their approach shots. “This is once in a lifetime, I can’t believe it, thank you so much to the Golf Foundation.”
18 holes with a future Ryder Cup star; warming up on the range next to Ryder Cup royalty; sharing a practice green with golf legends from home and across the pond; and finally finishing the day with a tour of the TaylorMade tour truck, thanks to the kind invite from the team over there.
Every penny we raised through Unleash Your Drive Competitions goes towards delivering mental toughness tools through our schools programme – and for golfers across the country, the chance is there again next year to make incredible memories of their own for life. Thanks to all of you for taking part, thanks to Harry Hall for being such a legend, thanks to DP World Tour for the opprtunity, and thanks to BMW for donating the places for our competition. Finally, congratulations once again to our three finalists. See you all for Unleash Your Drive 2026!
