Former Young Ambassador Chloe Saunders has been honoured with the Young Spirit of Golf Award, celebrating her dedication to inspiring young people and changing perceptions of golf.
Chloe began as a Young Ambassador in 2022, promoting Hero’s Handshake Awards, leading social media campaigns, and presenting to Golf Foundation and England Golf boards – so it was only fitting that Golf Foundation President Nick Dougherty invited a current Young Ambassador Ellie to the stage to present the award. Now a teaching assistant, Chloe has taking her learnings on and introduced golf into her school through the Unleash Your Drive programme.
Chloe said:
“The Young Ambassador programme gave me the confidence and passion to bring golf into schools. The best feeling is seeing pupils improve each week – and hearing one say ‘Miss Saunders taught me golf’ at the driving range made me so proud.”
She added:
“Golf gives children a sense of achievement. It’s their shot, their progress – and they can see themselves getting better. That confidence transfers into other areas of their lives.” Chloe continues to volunteer nationally with England Golf’s Volunteer Hub, showing how one person’s passion can ripple out to inspire many others.
