Volunteers Lead The Way at Wentworth

An army of 120 volunteers were the stars of the Golf Foundation’s week as official charity of the BMW PGA Championship in 2025.

Across the 68 hours that the Mega Putt and Chipping Challenge were open in the Event Village, the bright blue-shirted volunteers helped engage fans, encourage participation, and ultimately raise an incredible £65,500 for the Golf Foundation.

The enthusiasm, energy, and good humour of the volunteers – come rain or shine – made all the difference.

“It was such a pleasure to meet you all,” said Vanessa Bell, head of Fundraising at the Golf Foundation, “and we hope you enjoyed your time with us, made some new friends, and felt proud of the impact you helped to create.

“We are absolutely thrilled and blown away by the total raised, and it stands as proof that when people come together with passion and purpose, extraordinary things can happen.”

QUOTES FROM THE VOLUNTEERS

“Proud to have played a small part in such a meaningful initiative.⛳️????”

“It was great fun encouraging fans to get involved and raising money for a fantastic cause helping raise £65,000 across the week (before sneaking off to watch some of the golf after!)”
