Qualifying Competitions and Unleash Your Drive Final

Terms of Competition
1. Eligibility
1.1 Open to all golfers of Amateur Status as defined by The Rules of Amateur Status and of all ages, who are a member of a club affiliated to England Golf, Wales Golf, Scottish Golf or Golf Ireland and hold an individual up-to-date Handicap Index® not exceeding 54 on the World Handicapping System™
1.2 Participants must be in possession of an individual up-to-date Handicap Index® under the World Handicapping System™ throughout the duration of the competition.
1.3 Clubs must register to hold an Unleash Your Drive qualifying competition through The Golf Foundation website.
1.4 Only entries from registered clubs will be eligible.
2. Entries
2.1 Entry is minimum £5 donation per player to The Golf Foundation.
2.2 Closing date for clubs to submit entries is Tuesday 30th June 2026, 23:59 GMT.
2.3 Late entries will not be accepted.
2.4 Each club must submit the following to [email protected]:
i) Entry donations for all competitors (via BACS or payment link)
ii) Results sheet (digital) via the online link
2.5 The Golf Foundation holds the rights to all final decisions relating to competition matters
3. Format
Club Qualifying Round
3.1 The Competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf and such Local Rules and Terms of the Competition as approved by the Home Nation Governing Body.
3.2 The qualifying round shall consist of 18 holes of individual Stableford and must be played from a measured course with a verified Course Rating™ and Slope Rating™ on a date between 1st January and 30th June 2026.
3.3 All competition courses must be affiliated to a national governing body and hold a course rating certificate. The Competition can be a Mixed / Multi-Tee event.
3.4 The mandatory Handicap Allowance will be 95% of the Course Handicap – this will be used to calculate the Playing Handicap™
3.5 There will be three playing Handicap Index categories in which players can qualify for the Unleash Your Drive Final. These are as follows:
Category 1 < 12.9
Category 2 13.0 – 24.9
Category 3 25.0 – 54.0

i. There will be a minimum of ten qualifiers from each category determined by the number of entries in each category.
ii. There must be a minimum of 3 players in a category to submit a winner from that category. A Competition can be run with just one category.
3.7 Clubs are permitted to arrange an Alternate Day, which should be arranged 7 days prior to the Main Day Competition. Players may not compete in both the Alternate Day and Main Day Club Qualifying Competition.
3.8 The Competition will be recorded on the individual’s WHS Handicap Index® and may be used to verify entry and score by The Golf Foundation.
3.9 Members of more than one club may enter the qualifying competition at their home club and secondary club where they are a member.
3.10 The winner of each category will be the individual with the highest number of Stableford points from an 18-hole score that has been recorded on their playing record and can be viewed on the WHS™ platform.
3.11 The winner of each category will be forwarded to The Golf Foundation via the results sheet which will require name, email address, WHS Membership Number, Stableford score, course played, and date played.
3.12 The overall winner of the club Qualifying Competition will win a bespoke ball marker, provided by The Golf Foundation.
3.13 In the event of a tie, the winner shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the submitted score. If a tie still arises, it shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the first nine holes of the submitted score. In the event that there is still a tie, there will be a draw for the allocated places.
3.14 Winners will be notified by The Golf Foundation by email via contact details submitted on the entry form by Monday 6th July 2026, 17:00 GMT.
3.15 Winners must confirm their place to The Golf Foundation by Monday 13th July 2026, 17:00 GMT.
3.16 Should winners fail to confirm their place within the allotted timeframe, their entry will be forfeited and allocated to the next eligible qualifier in the same category.
4. Unleash Your Drive Final
4.1 The Top 45 with the highest Stableford points from the qualifying competitions will qualify for the Unleash Your Drive Final. (there will be a minimum of ten qualifiers from each category determined by the number of entries in each category)
4.2 The Final will be held on Tuesday 11th August 2026 at The Grove. The competition will consist of 18 holes Stableford.
4.3 The mandatory Handicap Allowance will be 95% of the Course Handicap
4.4 The Top 3 with the highest Stableford points will qualify to win a place in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am. This prize is supplied by DP World Tour.
4.5
i. The maximum WHS handicap index for the three BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am places is 18 (male) and 24 (female): index will be taken as per the date of the Unleash Your Drive Final.
ii. Players whose WHS Handicap Index® exceeds these limits will compete in a separate competition on the day, with an alternative prize awarded.
4.6 In the event of a tie, the winners shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the submitted score. If a tie still arises, it shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the first nine holes of the submitted score. If there is still a tie, there will be a draw to decide the winner.
4.7 The Golf Foundation holds the rights to all final decisions relating to competition matters.
